· Ectropion
This complication is very rare. It is characterized by pulling down of the eyes’ lower lids. To correct this symptom, other types of surgery can be performed.
· Acne
After removing the stitches, small whiteheads are more likely to appear. These whiteheads can be eliminated by your surgeon with the use of whiteheads.
These risks and complications can be avoided or at least reduced by following the instructions and advice of the surgeon who did your eyelid lift surgery.
You can go for an eyelid lift surgery if you are psychologically stable and physically healthy. It is necessary to know the time it takes to recover after the surgery because it varies largely among patients. On the first evening after your eyelid lift, you are advised to rest with your head slightly elevated. You may be asked to apply cold compress to the lids of your eyes. Bear in mind that you should never take in aspirin or specific anti-inflammatory drugs. You will initially experience mild discomfort, which oral medication can control. On the first 48 hours after the eyelid lift surgery, you will experience bruising and swelling and you are not allowed to wear make up. The stitches will be taken out a week after and the bruising will normally vanish within ten days.
